Detailed information

Product detailed description

The collection focuses on the end of the World War I, the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy and the consequences of this change. It deals with the journalism of Jaroslav Durych, Karel Horky and Walter Tschuppik, the novels of Robert Mimra, Erwin Ott and Hans Watzlik and the memoirs My War Odyssey by Vladimír Vaněk. A separate contribution focuses on post-war fantastic prose. In the second part of the periodical we find an edition of Bohumil Markalous' (i.e. Jaromír John's) correspondence to his friend Karel Horky and an edition of Miloš Stuchel's memoirs of October 1918 in Prague. The third part contains an edition of the mutual correspondence of František Kašpar and Jindřich Šimon Baar from 1917-1923 and a block of three papers dealing with the issue of digitisation in the Literary Archive of the Memorial of National Literature. The reports of the Literary Archive at the end of the proceedings inform about the acquisitions in 2017 and about the processed personal collections (Vladimír Boudník, Jaroslav Seifert, Edvard Valenta) and about the archival collection of Jaroslav Medek.
